Marathon is the latest in a series of dyed/metal hybrid films from Johnson Window Films. Its universal black shade closely matches factory tinted glass while the color/reflectivity is consistent throughout the line, the company stated. Along with a new color, Marathon offers an improved polyester polymer base for better adhesive anchoring, stronger durability and increased optical clarity, Johnson said. The company added that Marathon’s hybrid construction combines an aluminum layer that delivers superior heat and UV Ray rejection with a long lasting, color impregnated black dyed film. Marathon will be made available in 5 different VLT films — MN 05, MN 20, MN 30, MN 35 and MN 45 to give customers a broad selection of light and dark color shade options. Kicker introduces its 10-inch KM10 Marine Subwoofer. The KM10 comes in either a sealed or vented box (150 watts RMS power handling and is designed for any outdoor climate. Kicker said the sub’s sealed motor, cone, and locking terminal cover make it entirely splash- and spray-resistant. The water-tight terminal cover itself provides strain relief, insulation, corrosion prevention, and aids in ignition protection. The injection-molded cone, Santoprene surround, basket, and grille are UV-treated to combat the harsh marine environment. The unit has four rear sensors and displays the distance from an object in feet on the video screen. Kenwood announced the delivery of its flagship DVD receiver, the eXcelon DNX9140, which incorporates GPS navigation software from Garmin and features advanced voice control of most navigation and audio functions, according to Kenwood. The new model, with a $2,100 suggested retail price, features a high-resolution WVGA touchscreen control, built-in navigation technology and a voice control system for hands-free operation. Kenwood’s voice control feature allows users to fully operate the navigation system and enter addresseses, choose menu options and select points of interest. The voice control system will also operate audio and video systems, allowing the user to control any connected or built-in sources with common functions such as search, selection and display information as well as manage audio control functions. Through the addition of built-in Bluetooth by Parrot, the DNX9140 is compatible with a range of cell phones and smartphones, including iPhone and BlackBerry. SawStop LLC announced the release of the new SawStop 10-inch Professional Cabinet Saw, available for pre-order at authorized dealers in the U.S. and Canada. SawStop said the Professional Cabinet Saw includes a patented safety system that works by inducing a small electrical signal on the blade, and if the signal is interrupted by any part of an operator’s body, the blade stops within 5 milliseconds.
