BOSS Audio Systems announced the addition of the patented BOSS 755DBI and 750DI. These units are solid-state MP3-compatible in-dash AM/FM receivers with built-in iPod docking stations. The 755DBI is fully Bluetooth-enabled whereas the 750DI is not.
Clarion Corp. of America offers the FZ709 mechless audio video entertainment head unit. Clarion’s FZ709 receiver features an iPod-focused user interface with USB, MP3/ WMA/ AAC playback from external sources, CeNET control and built-in Bluetooth hands-free, phonebook and audio streaming.
Pioneer offers its new 5.8-inch touch-screen A/V receiver. Both the XHD7720 and XHD7714 are compliant with digital disc and file formats (MP3 and WMA, including ID3 tags, and are also CD-R/CD-RW compatible. The XHD7720 is also Bluetooth-ready and compatible with Dual’s BTM60 Bluetooth module, while the XHD7714 features full built-in Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.
Kenwood introduces its KDC-X693 single-DIN eXcelon CD receiver. It features an advanced digital sound processing called “Sound Excellence,” 4-volt preamp outputs and built-in high-pass and low-pass crossovers. The CD receiver is iPod and iPhone ready and comes with an EQ feature that extracts the best possible sound from an iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch device, according to Kenwood.
JVC Mobile’s KD-R900 is the flagship receiver of seven new CD receivers for 2009. It features two USB ports to connect an iPod or iPhone, USB drives, digital audio players or portable HDD devices.
