Mobile Electronics just received an e-mail from AAMP of America, parent company of PAC and iSimple, concerning a compatibility issue with iPods and iPhones running Apple’s new OS 3.0 operating system and PAC’s/iSimple’s uPAC and GateWay interfaces. Following is the entire letter from the company.
The SoundGate iO CONNECT integrates portable audio devices into any existing car stereo system by utilizing the provided 3.5mm minijack plug. The iO CONNECT is perfect for classic-car owners who seek a stealth audio system and no source unit cluttering a dash, according to the company. It is compatible with all iPods and iPhones, all MP3 players and mobile phones with 3.5mm minijack sockets, or any portable media player, DVD player, or laptop with a headphone socket. It also works with navigation units with 3.5mm line-out sockets.
Pacific Accessory Corp. announces the availability of two new accessories designed to expand the capabilities of its uPAC series of iPod and iPhone interface modules. The uPAC-SIRCBL (pictured) is a cable that allows the uPAC to be upgraded with a SIRIUS satellite radio tuner.

BOSS Audio Systems announced the addition of the patented BOSS 755DBI and 750DI. These units are solid-state MP3-compatible in-dash AM/FM receivers with built-in iPod docking stations. The 755DBI is fully Bluetooth-enabled whereas the 750DI is not.
NAV-TV’s new iPod universal Vehicle Dock allows installers to directly integrate an iPod with the Range Rover’s factory touch-screen. The system is a hideaway unit that gives users iPod control through the supplied remote control and directly from the factory radio when installed with a NAV-TV Range Rover IR interface.
Peripheral Electronics is shipping the iSimple TranzIt (IS77), an interface that allows for direct iPod or iPhone connection to a factory or aftermarket FM radio. This interface utilizes an “antenna bypass” that’s similar to the signal switch boxes used on video game systems to send a signal directly into any FM car stereo.
Pacific Accessory Corp.’s uPAC line of interface modules are compatible with 2005–2009 vehicles from Ford, General Motors, Honda-Acura, Hyundai, Lincoln, Mercury, Nissan-Infiniti Toyota-Lexus and Volkswagen without factory satellite radio and rear-seat entertainment.
